-Inspiration-
-Planning-
For the last sketch I wanted to do something more fun so I decided to make it look like she was hanging upside down. I also added a bow in the back to give the drawing more movement unlike the other drawings. I went back to long hair for this sketch because I thought it would look better with the hanging upside down idea.

-Process-
Once I chose the sketch that I liked the most I went in to do the line art. Making the sketch layer lighter I put another layer on top to do the line art. I wanted to have thinner lines like my inspiration In the areas where there would be shadow I made the lines a bit thicker to illustrate that better.
|
After the line art is finished I go on to the flat colors. This part give me a better understanding on how the art will end up looking and it helps me find a fitting color palette. when picking my colors I occasionally go into grayscale in order to make sure my colors aren't the same saturation since that can make the art less appealing.
|
Now the next part is where I finally start rendering making things smooth and clean. I do this part on top of the line art to have the best results. Then I go over it again redrawing the lines and fixing anything along the way. Most of it is done on one layer to have the best blending.
For the skirt I went over and covered the black outline. This was to make the skirt look softer then the rest of the drawing. |
Lastly on other layer I use overlay with a dark blue on the girl alone to make it seem like she's in a dark space. Then in another layer I use red lighting around to make it seem like the background circle is illuminating light on the girl. I use the air brush to make the light soft instead of being sharp.

-Critique-
Similarities
As you can see both of these art pieces both have a circle in the background that isn't centered which makes the art look more dynamic. |
Diffrences
Although You can still see a lot of differences as well, the shading is a lot different from one another. The colors are a lot different from one another too, the colors that I used are more saturated and stronger while the colors on the theater magazine are softer. |
-Reflection-
This was a really fun project that I worked on because I was able to do this digitally and digital art is something I'm used too. Although I did have trouble understanding the different layers that I could use and that took time for me to learn to use. In the end I'm really happy with my work, although if I had to redo this I would do something with the background instead of leaving it a plain black. I also had a really fun time coming up with sketches and planning out the drawing.
-Act Questions-

The main object of the drawings is a person and the background is plain with a red circle in the back.
2. What is the overall approach the author has regarding the topic of your inspiration?
Can clearly see how both art works share similar aspects.
3. What kind of generalizations and conclusions have you discovered about people, ideas, culture, etc. while you researched your inspiration?
